My Dinner Last Night......

A dinner at Rockroad Restuarant is nothing but extravagant.......a spur of the moment invitation landed me here instead of the regular and simplified homecook meals that we so often have.

Here are some of the dishes which are truly rich in cholestrol and not to forget expensive!!!!

A bowl each of the famous Sharkfin's and scallop soup.

A dish i won't reject.....Lobster salad !!

Notice the humongous size of the lobster head..larger than the palms of my hand but the meat is half the size.........
Enjoying our meal.... compliment by my selection of french white Chardonnay 2005 .

Not to forget the highly expensive delicacy of the smoke abalone .

All in all we had 7 dishes and if i don't use the word "sumptuous" , then i must be losing my tatse buds and have my tongue check!! This is one meal that would give you a goodnight's sleep .......and truly i did!!

Goal's Rush to 10th Year Anniversary...You must watch see this!!!

Goal cafe celebrates its 10th anniversary yesterday....come to think of I have been a patron since its opening. That means I have been intoxicating my body for the last 10 years ...brrrrr thinking of it gives me the creeps dude!!!!!!!

Anyhow, to salvage some sense of pride ,the good side is that i get to meet lots of dudes ,cheeks ,oldies folks local and foreign etc etc..........and thats relatively makes me popular among the local folks!!!!

Although i seldom hangout at this place nowadays , the very unusual thing is that it attracts lots of dudes and regulars like me for many years. We are practically clinched to the place when it comes to "drinkhole" ,some say we are possessed by the enigma of alcoholism. That aint true .....we just find thats the only place to chilled out as everybody knows each other and the boss is a great guy!!!

Before , you don't need to eavesdrop to find where am chilling out in Kuching....it can be that attached!!!

Hold your horses ....this place when it comes to ambience its zero tolerance....almost every freaking thing is worn out and rundown . The paint colours on the wall looks like its has sustained years of fungus and pukes stained on it and the toilets has surpassed Class D ratings , i called it pissing on puking bowls.... (i remember i ever shit there before..errrrk!)

Regardless , there is one thing that will surely eliminate all the imperfections ......the GRO's that would certainly lift up the place ...they hot but trust me when it comes to squeezing from your pockets.....its no mercy.

Anyway , this is party and I have one hot cheek to take a photo with and as you scroll downwards you will not regret how wild they can get!!!!!..............

Alas d beauty.......she would be the one whom is gonna steal the night away !!!!

Insurance Broker , Wilfred and Insurer , Ben, back to back drinking partners!

Another Insurance Broker , Jeffery added behind is a very good cook and bro , Robert.

Now what you are about to see are the exoctic cheeks dancing kicking off . If you can't hold your eyeballs I suggest you close this page!!!!..............

Hey im no peeppytom man....they dancing on the bartop so i just snap!!!!!

On the otherside they are dancing on the tabletop .......ahhh theres Ah Tee joining the pack!!!

I must respect the boss for hiring "erk" ......doesn't matter if you are "caught in between" everybody should be given a chance...Salute Mr.Chuang!!!

Hainan Street Cafe

Main Attraction !!!!.....if you are in favour of Hainanese Chicken Rice , check out this cafe located at Jln Petanak which just recently opened . It served roasted or steamed chicken and comes in a set meal which also consists of a plate of bean sprout veg , soup and your choice of either chinese tea, barley or herbal tea.......all for only Rm5.50!!

Portion of the set meal I should say is of average portion , relatively considered enough for light lunchers and for those who seeks more to appertise their stomach...ask for extras!!

Besides Hainanese chicken rice , others on the menu recommended are the fried beef kueh teow and the Penang curry noodles (dry/wet) as well as other local delights established on the menu.

The modernistic style of setting and the clean environment should rate it above Class A and do not fail to notice the pictures on the wall.....which carries a relic of the past chinatown. I strongly affirmed that the pictures are not of Kuching, however the owner has gone to great lengths in acquiring them i suppose!!!

Overall food I would rate it as 3stars out of 5......as Im no food critic , I would say its a place you would go back again, for reason it is served fasts and hot ,an equittable asset for lunchers and not expensive as well. For other reasons its clean and convenient located at the heart of the city!!!

Ikan Masin Segar

Ikan Masin Segar (Salted Fish) a popular side dish for the local Malays which is said to one of the best in Malaysia. Its is one of the "essentials" when people from near and far of Malaysia would make that conceited effort to "tapao" it home when they come to Kuching . If you wanna know what the hell im doing there....my boss from KL had couple of requests to "tapao" it back on behalf of my fellow colleagues.

As you know salted fish would let out an eccentric smell.....not to worry, in order not to pollute the plane's cabin , stalls like this are well-experienced in concealing it by wrapping it tight and enclosed into a paperbox.

The fish of choice is the very bony Terubuk (American Shad) which is lemak and tender . Unlike from the Chinese dried salted fish , it is freshly clean inside and pack with loads of salt on the inside and outside.

Terubuk is a popular and expensive fish especially for the larger ones. Beside being salted ,it cook be fried or steamed, braised with an assortment of condiments .

Aside , it is a dish not for the "lazy ones" in terms of its bony flesh . It needs alot of patients when eating Terubuk. Come to think of it , makes me hungry now.............

Ikan Masin Segar is widely available at the Satok and Main Bazaar market.

As I have mentioned its not cheap......but a must buy , so check it out!!

Hungry Ghost Observance Period.....

Just as Halloween is for Americans, the ‘Hungry Ghost festival’ is for the Chinese.
For those who have never heard of this festival, here are the essential ‘spooky’ facts on this festival.

Hungry Ghost festival is a popular occasion that is taken very seriously by the Chinese. This festival that falls on the 7th month of the lunar New Year is celebrated mainly in China and other countries like Singapore & Malaysia. It is believed by the Chinese that during this month, the gates of hell are opened to free the hungry ghosts who then wander to seek food on Earth. Some even think that the ghosts would seek revenge on those who had wronged them in their lives. The reason why the Chinese celebrate this festival is to remember their dead family members and pay tribute to them. They also feel that offering food to the deceased appeases them and wards off bad luck.

Another belief among the Chinese is that the dead return to visit their living relatives during the 7th month and thus they prepare a sumptuous meal for the ‘hungry ghosts’. The Chinese feel that they have to satisfy the ghosts in order to get good fortune and luck in their lives. During the 7th month, the Chinese offer prayers to the deceased relatives and burn joss sticks.

The Chinese also do a lot of offerings to the deceased. These offerings are made by burning fake money notes, which are also known as ‘hell money’ and even paper television or radio sets. Some families also burn paper houses & cars to give to their dead relatives. The Chinese feel that these offerings reach the ghosts and help them live comfortably in their world.
The Chinese regard the 15th of the month as an important date to give a feast to the ghosts. On this date, the family will cook a lot of dishes and offer them to the deceased. This is done to please the ghosts and also to gain good luck for the family. 15 days after the feast, the festival will be over, as the Chinese believe that the ghosts return back to where they come from.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!!........

To let you know how "spooky" it can get during this period ...read this article that I have extracted about this guy Huang from Kuantan.............

KUANTAN: While burning joss paper as an offering to wandering spirits during the seventh lunar month, Huang had impulsively decided to take a picture of the flames with his camera phone. He was later surprised to discover that he had taken the photo of a "ghost".

"The photo showed a figure in red with a pale white face. At first I thought I was the only person who could see it. But when I showed the photo to my friends and relatives, they stared at it in shock."

He said that after his karaoke entertainment center had closed for the day, he had gone with his family to a nearby road to burn offerings to wandering spirits, in accordance with Chinese traditional customs for the Hungry Ghost festival. He had not expected to photograph something supernatural."When I was burning the offerings, I noticed that the joss papers were burning in a very attractive manner, and that a small whirlwind of air was gradually rising above the flames. It had a peculiar shape and looked very interesting."

"I pulled out my camera phone and took 5 photos of the fire as a record, and then put the phone back in my pocket before continuing to burn the remaining offerings. After I was finished, I went home to rest.

He said that when he looked at the pictures on his camera phone the next day, he was surprised to see that one of the photos showed the upper half of a person's body, complete with a pale white face, above the fire. He suspected that he had taken a photo of a "ghost."

Made In Kitchen.......Guangzhou

Location :May Flower Plaza, 68 Zhongshan Wu Lu
(Opposite of Bejing Lu)

I had been to quite a number of restuarants in GZ and Made in Kitchen is the best yet so far . Its a fusion restaurant located on the 20th floor , serving you as many types of food as possible, including Japanese, Cantonese, Thai, and other Asian cuisines.

The design of this restaurant is very elegant, simple and modern; everytime when you go to the table, you need to pass through a long walkway making you feel like a model on a catwalk ...cool !! So if you wanna go there ,just put on your best wear regardless if ur thin, medium or fat !!

And the best part is while dining , you will have a magnificent view of GZ city.

One of the most noticeable features of Made in Kitchen is the large open-plan kitchen, allowing you to watch the chefs make and prepare your food.

For all the embience and good food , it doesn't come cheap especially Jap food but some are pretty reasonable . I ordered the Mix Grille ; it costs me about RMB80 with an american-style serving......huge man!!!

Clubbing in Guangzhou.......

Guangzhou city , besides serving as China's most populous trading center and third largest metropolitan city , its is also a shopping heaven and an enourmous varieties food oulets and restuarants where one would never go hungry.

After that comes the nightlife when you had enough of eating and shopping , GZ also has an extravagant harvest of clubs and KTVs located downtown .

I went clubbing with my chinese friends ,unfortunately i can't recollect the name of the club as i have been to many.....anywhere this club was a memorable one as they (china clubbers) really

know how to party hard and not to mentioned all the gorgeous chicks !!! This is not a small club and for your imagination , its about 4 times larger than the Beach Club in KL or 10 times larger than Soho in Kuching....huge club!!!

My friends and some newly met friends in the house!!!

My friends Aiyen and Anna ..pretty lads ain't they?

Me and China's Angels.......Aiyen,Anna and Shuwen , so anytime any of you want to go clubbing this are the angels that gonna turned your night into a crystal ball!!!

I've no doubts when i say that im pretty fond of Aiyen, she has been my guide and companion throughout my trip ...and what can u say that she took time off for .....keke!!!

Guess they are pretty drunk by this stage ....we have passed our second bottle of Chivas and rocking the house down!!!

A bottle of Chivas (75ml) cost about RMB450 (RM225) which is cheap considering that this a top class joint in GZ.

Ahh...this is where the flash of the night begins......they hired some pretty hot-chicks to dance right up on the stage!!

Pretty cool girls on their two piece outfit and firm ass , sure did set my eyeballs bulging and turned 360!!! Watch my video clip ......you know what i mean!!!!

China Chick Groove on Stage
