Menara MAA on Fire!!!

At around 10.05 this morning , I was at my desk looking through my emails when suddenly the fire alarm sounded . My office is situated on the 8th Floor , the same floor the fire was believed to be spotted . All my work screeched to a halt , me and the rest of my colleagues started to embarked quickly down the stairways.

On the way down we were met with other floor tenants whom were also making scrupulous efforts scaling down the stairs to get to safety zone.

5 mins into the triggering of the fire alarm the first fire engine from their base nearby arrived and all of the firefigthers spring into action.

Second to arrive was another brigade of SAR (search and rescue) firemen whom quickly take charge of recovering any fallen victims left behind in the building.

It was learned that 3 victims are trapped or fallen behind somewhere in the building . SAR team begins entering the building to do a floor by floor sweep of the missing victims.

The fire supervisors, floor marshals , medics and securities has handed over all operations and control to the arrived fire fighting brigade .

Last fire engine to arrive ...seen here is the 30 meters sky ladder detaching from the vehicle.

Seen here are 2 brave firemen ready to be winched up to put out the fire on the top floor of the building.

Sky is the Limit.....the sky ladder strecthed out to it full length and that is about 12 storeys.

The fire has been contained within 30 minutes and the victims were reportedly been recovered.

The building's MEDIC teams attend to the injured victims while awaiting the arrival of the paramedics .

The injured victims are quickly been evacuated into the ambulance .

This maybe a fire drill but appreciation goes to the true unsung heroes or should I named them as the true "Ladder 49" of the country. They are the men who put on their uniforms everyday not as a job but to put themselves in the line of fire or disaster, encountering the people who are having the worst possible day of their lives. Yet they stand together as a team ...to find strength not weakness so that to give hope , faith not fear, courage and compassion to save the countless properties and especially the helpless lives when called upon every single day..................Salute!!!
